Remarks While driving North on I87, the New York State Thruway, near mile marker 139 around 8:30 P.M. Friday night September 21, 2012, I saw a bright circular flash of bright white light for about 1 second. During the flash I could see a trail like a jetstream and the flash of bright white seemed to end in the color green. I thought it was a huge firework or missile explosion. The next morning while having breakfast at The Pig II Deli in Indian Lake, NY in the Adirondack Mountains, I mentioned what I had seen on our trip North on I87 the previous night. I was very happy to hear from a local woman I know, that she had seen a bright flash in the sky at the same time. She told me she was driving near Lake George, New York. Interestingly enough, both of our spouses were driving with us, both of them did not see the event, and both were reading books while sitting in the passenger seats. Sometimes it DOES pay to be doing the driving. This time I was treated to a spectacular meteor flash that was as bright as the full moon, if only for that one second. I was travelling around 65 miles per hour with all the windows up and did not hear any noise.
