It was a beautiful clear night and we were on a rooftop (around 20 stories high) with a view of the Manhattan skyline. The flash came from the right, heading North over the Hudson River and appeared to be eye level to us and quite close. It looked like a green ball with a long white tail attached. It was seen by at least 20 other people (strangers) who were just as excited and baffled as we were to observe this brief spectacle. I’ve seen a few shooting stars in the past but they appeared much farther away. Very cool experience!
