I read your initial report and the trajectory I saw I would have been more parallel with Long Island Sound it did not appear to be headed north at all as I saw it. I am a sailor and have pretty good directional sense.

At the origin of the fireball there appeared to be a larger cloud that lasted after the hole meteor disappeared. This original area was like nothing I'd never seen as it was much thicker than the original Trail and it appeared to diminish slowly. I am adding to this because the question below asks if I saw a terminal Flash and there was not per se an explosion but it did seem to get Bright toy the end before it went out. The streak across the sky was a blue to green
