Remarks I heard a rumbling sound for a while afterwards. It sounded like a very large military jet overhead - but it wasn't a jet!

Remarks I saw a very bright light out the window and through a lot of trees. I did not think it could have been anything in the sky - it was so low on the horizon. I thought it was a neighbor's house or a transformer exploding a few blocks away. Until I heard everyone on the island saw it.
