This was the most bizarre experience. I was going to bed and just happened to look out my window. I live on the 36th floor in downtown Chicago and it was a clear night. I was so taken aback by what I saw. I thought I may be losing my mind because I didn’t understand what I could have possibly seen. It looked so close and looked like a neon firework but there was no sound and no helicopters or anything around that could have set it off. It was so bright. I texted my family in surprise. My dad texted back that he ALSO had just seen a green light heading straight south while he looked up at the gas station, 150 miles away! I feel so lucky to have seen it.

It looked just like a firework when it breaks up at the end and burns up.
