| Remarks | My wife noticed the smoke trail first. It curved toward the direction I was looking. The moon was almost full and lit it up brilliantly. It seemed like an airline contrail, but not in the regular places we might see one. It was also thicker, almost cylindrical, and much darker than the sky around it |

| Remarks | The center of the ball was yellow with orange toward its edges. Red sparks were shooting off it like metal from a grinder. Two or three slivers broke off and glowed red but turned black almost immediately. I could not tell where they went because they seemed to dissolve into the smoke trail. |
