I saw this during my commute this morning driving west on I-95 South in Massachusetts. I honestly thought it was a plane about to crash. The brightness was on par with landing lights on a jet. The sun had not risen yet but the sky was already turning light. I saw the entire trail and it got super bright and then it stopped right before the treeline over the highway.
