Reports Report 4714a (Event 4714-2018)

Observer
Name David M
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks The object I viewed actually looked like a bright yellow ball with a burning flame trailing. I live in a village and my neighbor's house/tree was the lower limit of sighting which lasted about 1 second. I estimate the general direction from my position was due South to SSE. It seemed to be either fairly close or very large if more distant. I waited about 30 seconds for a sound but heard no report. The burning object's relative size compared to my neighbor's house/tree (aprox. 45 to 55 feet LOS) was between marble and golf ball. This was not what I usually observe as a "falling star" during a meteor shower.
