Reports Report 303d (Event 303-2012)

Observer
Name Heather
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks I did not understand your tracking questions at first, and thus did not depict the proper track of the event. I was driving and looking straight down the road, but the track was far right in my windshield (east) to far left in my windshield (west). It may have been at a higher angle than I said as well. It was between overhead and a 45 degree.

Delayed Sound
Observation No
Remarks I was traveling in my car and had music on. If there was anything to hear, I would not have heard it.
Persistent train
Observation Yes
Duration 10s
Length -1°
Remarks The \"train\" was visible only because I have a Honda fit, where the car windshield affords me an expansive view of the sky. I was traveling with a friend who was in a separate vehicle in front of me and that driver only saw a \"lightening-like flash\". It seemed like a fairly horizontal train, beginning to my right (east) and finishing to my left (west). I was headed north on route 153, just before the Little White Church in Eaton, NH. The \"train\" began as, what I would describe to be, the best shooting star I have ever seen in my 47 years of life. It seemed to last many seconds, slowly getting brighter and brighter, finishing with an extremely bright burst of what I remember to be a blue light. It was truly remarkable. It also appeared to be quite \"thick\" or substantial in both length and breadth. I am not one to seek out information on, or report such a sighting... but after talking to a friend about seeing it, they said they had heard of other such sightings of that same event.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks The flash near the end was blue (I wish I had known about reporting it, and had done so immediately. My memory is not nearly as vivid as I wish it to be). I thought it must have entered the Earth\'s atmosphere (I always thought meteors did this when they entered into our atmosphere), as the light almost exploded, sending fragments everywhere in the western sky.
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
