Remarks | I feel so lucky to have seen this leap-year-eve fireball witnessed together with my husband. Something I will never forget! Thank you for allowing me to share it and contribute to the work you do! I can\'t wait to find out more about it! Other comments on other sights have stated the same as I: that this is the biggest and brightest they have ever seen! (I have seen only one other, years ago) Thank you again! ~Deanna |

Remarks | I was driving in a vehicle with the windows up. I heard no sound. |
Persistent train | |
---|---|
Observation | Yes |
Duration | 0.5s |
Length | 20° |
Remarks | It seemed very long, and there may have been sparks or breaking pieces. There seemed to be a very slight arch. It turned from a very strong green to yellow and then there was a flash of orange when it extinguished. The tail seemed as wide, if not wider than the leading fireball. I cannot recall too much more detail, because of my excitement :) |
Terminal flash | |
---|---|
Observation | Yes |
Remarks | The fire ball and tail was all green, however when the terminal flash occurred it was bright orange-yellow. I saw very little, if any fragmentation. It was dark outside after it terminated. |
