Reports Report 3311x (Event 3311-2018)

Observer
Name Alberto, Sara & Alex E
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks The three of us were walking north on S. Modoc Avenue. Our adult child Alex saw it first out of the corner of their eye from the east. It passed rapidly to the west across the whole sky visible to us through the trees. It was the brightest, largest natural object we've seen in the sky other than the Sun and Moon, far brighter than Venus or Sirius, it was plainly a disk with a diameter not a pinpoint, impressively bright, fuzzy about the edges. Alex and I (Alberto) feel it was about a quarter the diameter of the Moon when it is in the sky or 1/8 degree. Sara feels it may have been about half the diameter of the Moon or about 1/4 degree. It was a consistent color, a beautiful bluish green. Very bright. Had it appeared as big as the Moon, it would have outshone it. We differ slightly on the color but on the RGB color codes chart, it was similar to #6EFFC5; i.e. R 110, G 255, B 197. We debated most on how long it stayed in the sky. We feel it was at least two seconds, but may have been as long as three seconds. Alex, seeing it first in peripheral vision, thought it lasted the longest.
