Remarks Large fragment broke off, had a long tail of sparks like a sparkler. It was fast but but a lot slower that a shooting star. In my field of vision the tail was 4-8 in long. It looked close to ground below an airliner but hard to tell. It was below mars in night sky at the time I saw it. But was further south when I first saw it. Trees were in my field of vision to the north lost sight of it.
