Remarks I think my impression was that it was going away from me, towards the northwest. I was a passenger in a car traveling west. Two of us saw this and agreed it was not fireworks. We were on a very dark road and it shone clearly.

Remarks It was a large orange chunk, appearing as suddenly as a shooting star, only larger and lower in the sky. As it disappeared, it appeared to arc, break into two... and it was gone.
