Reports Report 140n (Event 140-2012)

Observer
Name Drew L
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks I've never seen anything like this before. I've seen shooting stars in the sky when I was way out in the countryside away from the city lights, but this was incredibly brighter and seems liked it was less than a mile in front of me. I'm even thinking about contacting the property owner to see if I can search his farm for the meteorite. I'd love to see exactly what came down out of the sky.

Delayed Sound
Observation No
Remarks I was in my car with the stereo on. I have a converible so I can hear more of the road noise and such, but I didn\\\\\\\'t hear any sound associated with this event. Perhaps my music was too loud, or perhaps it did not make a large noise.
Persistent train
Observation Yes
Duration 0.5s
Length 20°
Remarks It looked like a professional firework was launched 150' above the tree line straight at the ground.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks As described in the train section, it looked like a firework launched from up in the sky towards the ground, but the terminal flash did not look like a firework going off. I thought it was rather weak, but it was reddish while the train was white. It looked like there were some small reddish fragments at the bottom.
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
