Remarks This meteor/fireball was quite large in size with a reasonably sized tail. From my field of view it came into sight over my left shoulder and went out of view as it was obscured by the rear of my house structure that juts out (an extension). As it was moving it began to be obscured behind some light cloud and this gave a haziness to the meteor/fireball. I have seen the meteor showers in autumn but this was nothing like those. I wasn't sure if it was an aircraft on fire (it seemed quite close) - it being so large: I ran into another part of the house and watched to see if there was a flash/explosion. Realising it was not an earthbound body I was struck how far away it must have been and equally how fast it must have been moving. I was looking from my house westwards where there is an air corridor that follows the north south line of the A1and I noticed an aircraft on that track. Whether this was visible to them ? Happy to give more/answer any questions.
