Reports Report 1159m (Event 1159-2018)

Observer
Name Mary R
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks Awakened by massive sound that I could only compare to a sonic boom. Hearing the first one got us up, hearing the 2nd one around the flash was really interesting.

Delayed Sound
Observation Yes
Remarks Heard one sonic boom that woke me up, and then another one nearer to the flash in the sky. Sonic booms were corroborated by husband and sister-in-law. Sister-in-law also saw the flash. I was wondering if it was an early piece of the Chinese satellite. We are visiting in northern California.

Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks Flash was sudden, fairly large in size (relatively speaking for distance) and had a short-lived tail. Could not see fragmentation, as we were too far away. We saw it out of our bedroom windows looking southeast in the sky.
