I did not see point of origin as it descended and appeared from the top frame of my window. I was especially surprised by a green flash or green glow appearing (for a split second) as a "bow wave" (like ships have) before the next split second this gold ball with a wide vertical tail. Ended dark (flamed out?) prior to horizon.

Glowing train. Gold flecks of debris to the left and to the right of the train. This fireball pretty much came straight down, from my angle.
