Amazing! An hour or so later that same evening, a thin layer of clouds moved in and I saw another nearly vertical/downward streak in the ESE direction. The streak of light was bright enough to be seen behind the clouds. No details were observable.

Remarks
The train gave the appearance of a faint grey/white line that followed behind the bright green/white streak in the sky. The evening sky was not completely dark yet and stars could not be seen at the time. Only planets Venus and Jupiter were shining bright at the time. The sky was clear overhead with distant clouds out over the ocean (15 degrees above the horizon) in the ENE direction. My first thought was that it was some kind of fireworks set off at the beach a few blocks away. However, the bright comet-like object fell behind the distant clouds out over the Atlantic Ocean without any sound.
