Reports Report 1490al (Event 1490-2011)

Observer
Name John F
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks I have been lucky to have seen two of these large meteors in my lifetime, but this is the only one I have reported. The first was as bright as fireworks and had debris ejected from the main body and all along its train and it occurred on 9-11, but I am not sure what year. I think maybe 2007 above Greenville, SC.

Remarks If there were any sounds, which I did listen for, they were audibly lower than the interstate road noise that I hear from my front porch. I live between two relatively close interstates.

Remarks The train was the same color as the meteorite (green), but with less intensity. It punched through at about 10 - 15 degrees to my right as I observed it and punched back out at about 10 - 15 degrees to my left and the train lasted through the whole event which couldnt have been more than three seconds and then was gone. I am not sure how much was just an after image.
