Remarks | There was a thin overcast, so what i saw shone thru this. Only brightest stars could be seen thru it. The "object" had a large, bright, roundish head, followed by a increasingly slender but bright tail, and moved laterally across my lower horizon quickly, maybe 2-3 seconds duration. The "tail" faded behind the moving "head", maintaining a uniform overall length as the object progressed eastwardly. I do not know how much the hazy sky contributed to diffusing the brightness of the head and/or tail, and/or blanching color to the observed "white". For scale, I'd estimate the "head" to subtend the angular size of a small marble held at arm's length. |
