| Remarks | The meteor was directly in front of me so II saw almost no tail. I was driving alone and it was a very clear evening so it was quite visible. It was very, very large and dropped off just to my left as I was travelling north on Interstate 87 in the Lake George NY area. I heard about the exact time on the radio the next day so I knew what time I arrived home which was aprox 6:15 and judging the distance and the radio time I agreed with the exact time. GORGEOUS and spectacular. Once in a lifetime - and I'm 84. In effect, Hale Bopp kind of paled in comparison. |
