Reports Report 5450je (Event 5450-2017)

Observer
Name Julie W
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks I mentioned the sight of this big white ball falling almost straight down in the sky to my husband and son, immediately, but they had their backs to the restaurant window. It was BIG--I have seen shooting stars--this was neither that fast nor did it streak ACROSS the sky--it dropped straight down (or almost straight), relatively slowly, in my opinion--I thought it might be a local firework, drifting down while burning out. I heard on WAMC radio this afternoon that there were others who witnessed this event, and the recommendation to report to you all.

Remarks The bright white ball disappeared behind a local 4-story building (so I couldn't see the end to horizon). Fragmentation was on the entry end of the fireball, spewing bright small trails off the ball
