Reports Report 5173a (Event 5173-2017)

Observer
Name Matthew B
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks This meteor lasted around 4-5 seconds and it was absolutely surreal. I've never seen anything like this in my life and I've seen dozens of meteor showers. For brightness, it almost looked like it was a plane crashing while on fire or a small rocket with a long light yellow tail but it eventually burnt out and disappeared. It was too dark at the time to see any remaining smoke trail behind it. It appeared to be heading south-southwest in direction. This was an absolutely amazing experience and I'd love to find out if anyone else in my area saw this as well.
