Reports Report 5077a (Event 5077-2017)

Observer
Name A M
Experience Level 4/5
Remarks My initial view when I first saw this it was partially blocked by the eave of my roof. I was looking up at the sky straight east, and it appeared in full brightness suddenly from behind the edge of the roof, and continued on straight west until it disappeared. It was one of the brighter fireballs I have seen over the past few years. I am an amateur astro-photographer, and my sole interest in this field is taking images of meteors. I have been doing this for 10 years now. I usually go to a dark sky area about 40 miles sw of Nashville, but the skies this evening are partly cloudy, and I am waiting until Wednesday Dec. 13 to go out there. I just stepped out on my back porch on the west side of my house right at 10pm (18 minutes ago), and was looking up at the sky when I saw it. The duration I listed in this report is what I actually saw. Probably about 3 seconds, which means it was visible for longer than that, but I did not see the actual origin place of it. Happy Sky Watching A :-D
