Remarks I was driving. It was dark and tbe sky was clear .Interstate 64 East meanders, changing direction locally so the bearings are approximate due to directional changes in the interstate . The location was near and before Jefferson Avenue. The brilliant elongated cone was moving very fast. It looked like a long horizontal V that trailed off at the back end with flashing bursts of sparks. I was going about 70mph. I, at first thought the light that drew my attention in the left corner of my windshield might be a plane but the light was being emitted and the brilliance and the huge size, shape and sparking display along the tail separated, and I knew it was not a plane or any vehicle. This led me to believe that I had witnessed some type of space dust. The only confusing part for me is that it was moving parallel to the ground. I thought meteors moved in an arc path?

Remarks It appeared to have a head. Elongated light fanned from the head. There were firework like sparks from the bottom of the tail. It's appearance was like an elingated cone. Head on the right, which was direction it was travelling and separation of tail at the end on left with sparking bursts that were short duration. Everything happened so fast as I was driving Eastbound Interstate 64 near Newport News. Saw it out of the left corner of my windsheild and it streaked across, seemingly parallel to the ground.
