Remarks | Reported time is approximate (+/- 5 minutes or so). I witnessed the fireball from my porch, so the upper portion of the sky was blocked by the porch roof; for this reason, it is possible that the fireball was visible at a higher altitude than what I have reported. The only reason that I witnessed the fireball was because I had stepped outside to investigate why ALL of the neighborhood dogs had begun howling; the howling stopped shortly after the fireball disappeared. I cannot say that there is a correlation between the dogs behavior and the meteor, but found it intriguing since I rarely hear all of the dogs howling at once and I did not see or hear anything that would ordinarily trigger this behavior from the dogs. |
