Remarks | I was outside trying to catch a glimpse of the JPSS-1 environmental satellite Delta that was supposed to be launching from Vandenburg Tuesday at 1:47. My friend had told me about it. As I turned in a circle looking up I saw a very bright and brilliant white thing streak across the sky - much bigger and brighter than a shooting star and a very small halo type ring around the bright white ball - with a trail of bright white. The most impressive thing is that it was so low. It came down to within 3 stories, which was how tall my apartment building is. I've never seen anything like it. It was beautiful. The launching of the satellite was delayed, so it wasn't that. Nothing else happened after that. |
