Being inside of my car with the music on I did not hear anything and when I turned down the music and rolled down the window I only heard the traffic around me.

It was a glowing train that I could see about one second after I spotted the fireball. As it continued through our atmosphere the bright blue glowing train illuminated immensely, with the color of the train being a lighter shade of blue than the fireball.
