Remarks In more than 25 years of observing meteors, this was by far the brightest white fireball, the longest in duration, and the longest trail I have ever observed. The fireball was very large and almost boxlike in shape. The trail was long and straight. The color was unbelievably bright white, as white as the full moon and as bright as the full moon. It was awe-inspiring. The two other people on the middle school track who witnessed the fireball with me were awestruck.
