Remarks | I was looking down at my phone and glanced up when I caught a streak of light off to my right (south) and saw what I believe was a meteor for just a second before losing sight of it behind the ridge of my house's roof. It was coming down at a steep angle, I listened for an impact noise but didn't hear one. First thought was fireworks, but again no noise and to be so bright, fireworks would have had to be very close. The tail of this object looked to be disintegrating. The "Head" was a brilliant white, the tail appeared to be twinkling, less bright white. Some orange and yellow visible at the edges of the tail. I would love to know if what I saw was really a meteor! Can't imagine what else it could be with how bright it was. Thanks for having this site. |
