Remarks | We were looking Southwest towards Mt Hood from Parkdale and the fireball was so bright it lit up the mountain a bit. We saw smoke on the mountain on Sunday morning and understand there is still a wildfire raging on the mountain. I wonder if this fireball had anything to do with the fire? |

Remarks | Glowing orange fireball with fracturing chunks and long train. The fragmentation seemed to be in slow motion like pieces peeling away. The flash was somewhat like a sparkler when first lit. My uncle, who was with me at the time, had to look away at times it was so bright. Almost looked like there was a rocket having some welding repairs in mid-flight. My wife, who was also with me, missed the first part of it, but it lasted so long she was able to turn around and catch the show also. |
