Remarks | I saw a meteorite tonight, one that skimmed the surface of the atmosphere like a flat stone skipping on water. It became very bright, and dimmed and went bright again several times, and also seemed to be slightly changing in lateral direction. It crossed from west to east. I only noticed it in the eastern as it descended towards the horizon high in the eastern sky. I've seen skimming meteorites before, but none quite like this. Has anyone else seen something like this? P.S. I'm in France, is there a French Meteor Society? |
