I've been watching meteor showers for 15 years, often trying to coordinate my backpacking trips so that I can be in as much darkness and away from city lights as possible. This was the first time I've ever seen an explosion in the sky lit everything up locally for a second or 2. Was amazing.

Remarks
It was a sudden large white flash eminating from the center of its spherical explosion. I didn't hear anything but I had ear plugs in.
