At the time of observation I was driving a vehicle and my view of the fireball was briefly interrupted by passing under a 2 lane wide highway overpass at 70mph. I have done the best I could to convey my sighting.

Approximately Halfway into the fire ball's decent a flash occurred and a bright yellow piece broke off at approximately a 5 degree angle, from my perspective.
