Remarks | Was staring into the eyepiece of a Tectron 24" Dobsonian when the meteor first appeared. The area was lit up like green daylight. Estimate the magnitude may have been many times brighter than the full moon. |

Remarks | Fireball was observed at approx. 11:03 p.m. EDT. After a minute or two of excitement, attention returned to observing. At 11:05 or 11:06, 2-3 minutes after the initial observation, a rumbling boom was heard, by both persons present, eminating from the northwesterly direction in which the meteor was last seen. By the way, we were observing from an elevation of 4440\\\'. |
