| Remarks | I was standing in my backyard and heard what sounded like an airplane. When I looked up and shielded the sun with my hand looking for the airplane suddenly a small white ball came into view and I tracked it for 2 ½ - 3 seconds as it disappeared from my view. I do not believe the sound I heard was the meteorite, but I cannot be sure one way or the other. There was a lot of ambient street/city noise, thus I just am not sure. If you have ever seen a runaway helium balloon floating very high in the sky than that is kind of what it looked like. Yet it covered approximately 45 deg of the sky in 2 ½ - 3 seconds. I've seen and reported several fireballs at night, but this is the first that I have ever seen in daylight. |
