Remarks | I have never seen anything quite like that in my entire life. The fireball was so large and bright, and it stayed in motion for such a long time I first thought it might have been fireworks a few miles down at Sea World, but none were schedule at that time. I am really glad I got to witness that! |

Observation | No |
Remarks | I was driving on the freeway listening to loud (and heavy!) music so I wouldn\'t have heard it anyway. |
Persistent train | |
---|---|
Observation | Yes |
Duration | 3s |
Length | -1° |
Remarks | It looked like a glowing train, as bright as the fireball itself. It lasted for a 2-3 seconds then faded as the fireball (or a chunk of it?) changed direction to travel vertically from top to bottom, at which point a new trail was visible, although less clearly/persistently. |
Terminal flash | |
---|---|
Observation | Yes |
Remarks | The fragmentation occurred after 2-3 seconds, and it appeared as if the fireball was less bright and and changed direction to travel vertically from top to bottom. The terminal flash occurred ~1 second later. |
