Never seen anything like this before. We're out hunting every winter and need to be out before daylight. We see plenty of "shooting stars" but nothing of this magnitude.

Started as one mass, large flash and 1/3 of the mass broke off and went approximately 20 degrees above original trajectory before dying out. Secondary flash and 1/3 of remaining mass went approximately 30 degrees below original trajectory.
