Remarks 20110222.fireball@rslate.com FIREBALL REPORT, 22 Feb 2010, Report time 18:10 At about 5:51 PM (17:51) I saw a very bright fireball. The sky was bright from sunlight. I was eastbound in Fort Collins at the intersection of Prospect Road and Sprecht Point My position 40° 34.044\'N 105° 2.155\'W The fireball originated to my left at a bearing of about 30 degrees and an elevation of about 80 degrees. It was visible to a angle of about 100 degrees and an elevation of 25 degrees. Start 40° 35.062\'N 105° 1.287\'W End 40° 32.771\'N 104° 57.719\'W Midway through it\'s path at least one, possibly two pieces were seen to break off. Total transit time was probably less than 1/2 second. I immediately stopped the car and took bearings referencing landmarks and apparent elevation angles. From my position I estimated that it\'s apparent path would have taken it to near Timnath resevior, 4 miles down range. I know from experience that there is little accuracy in range of events but my bearings given should be quite accurate. Comment: I\'ve worked with the DSES.ORG for over twenty years and am very aware of elevation and bearing coordinates due to that exposure with the radio telescope.
