It was very thick, as in the difference between a fine tip sharpie (usual meteor) and a thick flat tipped sharpie (this event). I initially wondered if it was an airplane going down it was very wide. The light changed from a white yellow to green to red and just before it exploded turned brought white and exploded as white. It was also going almost directly straight down from my perspective.
