Remarks | It started over the Long Island Sound and ended over the landmass of CT. The speed was incredible - much faster than any manmade object I've ever seen. It was there, flamed brightly then disappeared (burnt out?) before it reached the horizon. Both my wife and I saw it at as we walked. Unlike a shooting star which appears 'above' the earth, this was definitely angled down into the earth and was clearly burning bright for a moment before disappearing. I didn't get an exact time, we only looked at the time when we arrived back at our house ~10 minutes later. |
