Remarks | I live in western South Dakota and see meteor showers quite frequently. What I observed last night was something that I have never seen. I really thought that I would hear an explosion after the fireball disappeared over the Vet Building in Lincoln, NE. I feel this is something that I will never seen again. It was spectacular. - Bob Baer I would like to add to the report that I was facing south when I observed the fireball. Also, that the fireball was traveling from west to east. |

Terminal flash | |
---|---|
Observation | Yes |
Remarks | At first, I thought I was seeing fire works. The head had a substantial tail. Just as it was flashing, it dropped below the Vet Building and I could not see it anymore. As it dropped below the building (out of my sight), I was waiting for an explosion, but did not hear anything. |
Fragmentation | |
---|---|
Observation | Yes |
Remarks | From what I saw, I thought there was a possibility of pieces hitting the ground. It dropped out of my sight when it disappeared at the roof line of the Vet Building. |
