We actually were coming home after a trip and had to back track after making a wrong turn putting an additional hour on our trip We never would have seen this amazing display had we not lost our way. Feeling lucky.

Remarks
The flash lit up the entire sky as though a significant lightening strike had occurred and then after a second or two delay we saw a fireball to the right of us with a trail of minor debris or tail lasting about 5 seconds . We were in a car and did not hear or feel boom or shake.
