I am making my observation based on what I thought was lightning last night but which falls in line with the event. I thought it was odd to have one flash and one bang and then nothing. I didn't see the full fireball itself but I did observe the light and the boom (lots of trees around and it must have been too low to see). It seemed a lot like heat lightning flash but those don't happen when it's as cold as it was last night.
