I had just left Starbucks located on Route 251 in Peru, IL. I was heading south on Route 251 and was stopped at the light at the intersection of Route 251 and May Rd just about 100' north of Interstate 80. I was looking at the light and then all of a sudden I saw this bright green light and at first I thought it was a plane but it was so bright and moving so fast. It entered my view from the east and exited in the west. There was a green trail behind it. As I was looking at it more intensely it just disappeared.

I saw a bright green object with a green tail behind it. Looking in the sky the round part or head was about the size of a nickel from where I was and the tail would have been about an inch and a half long.
