My husband and I saw this fireball on the way to my mother's house about 20 minutes after she passed away. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen in that it seemed to pass directly over her house. I am not a superstitious person, nor do I generally believe in signs or portents, but I truly believe that was a message from my mother that heaven is real and all was well. If my husband, the most logical and practical man I've ever known hadn't also seen it, I would think I imagined the whole sighting. Today I got a spaceweather.com newsletter containing an article about meteoric fireballs. I asked google where in the US had a meteorite fireball been reported on January 16, 2015 and there was a report on your site that said one was seen in Conway SC and in Pennsylvania, I think maybe Pittsburg. I know it's been over a year since we saw it, but I hope this helps you in your research or other endeavors. I know I will never forget seeing it. |
