Reports Report 3469f (Event 3469-2015)

Observer
Name Jeff T
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks I was up on the side of a South Table Mountain driving down, so my elevation was aprox. 300 ft above the average surrounding elevation, aprox. 2 miles across the valley is Green Mountain about 500 ft. high, the fireball flew in between the two mountains, so I can approximate the distance I was from it, about 1 mile. It was approximately at eye level, and I was looking down towards the valley between the two hills, that is how I estimate that it was about 200 - 300 feet off the ground, and the trajectory was very flat. Started from the east, my left as a ball, looked like a light, then a few seconds later it was about due south from me, it developed a tail, then as it was to the west of me, it burned out. There are the foot hills of the Rocky Mountains to the west, and it burned out well before reaching them, as they would tower many hundreds of feet above the elevation of the fireball, so I am sure the fireball extinguished somewhere over the town of Golden, CO.
