I enjoy observing meteors and meteor showers at night but this was the first I'd seen one during the day. Its brightness was equal to car headlights. The sighting was of two fragments that were very close together and from my point of view the second one overlapped the first's tail. I don't know if a sound accompanied it because I was in a vehicle.
