I've seen plenty of shooting "stars" in my life, but this was the first time I witnessed a larger meteor (or possibly a satellite reentering the Earth's atmosphere?). The initial streak was like a shooting star (but it left a small trail) and then it burst in a brilliant explosion and became a fireball. It came across the Arizona sky about 5:50am az time and lasted a second or two. It was headed east to west.
