I've seen several fireballs before and had no inclination to report them but this event was drastically different from the former observations. The first striking difference was the emerald color. The second difference was the perceived altitude from which it started to get brighter as it was nearly on the horizon when it reached it's apex brightness. Thirdly was the trajectory. It seemed to have fallen straight downward and dead north from my perspective.

As the object neared the horizon it got brighter with and stayed intact with noticeable small pieces 'popping' off, similar to sparks.
